Manny P. here…

“`George Lucas has donated another $10 million to the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts to fund the student’s diversity program that he helped establish. The gift was announced by USC, Lucas’ alma mater.                                   GEORGE LUCAS —>

“`Last fall, USC created a foundation in Lucas’ name to contribute to students from underrepresented communities,  who might qualify for financial support. This was funded with an initial $10 million gift from the George Lucas Family Foundation.  In 2006, Lucasfilm Foundation donated $175 million to expand and renovate structures at the school.

“`Michael Renov, Vice Dean of Academy Affairs, noted the gift will help USC recruit minority storytellers that lack a platform in cinematic media, and whose collective voice could benefit audiences all over the world.

“`The donation is available to graduate and undergraduate students.

Until next time>                               “never forget”
