   Lauren Bacall’s art jewelry, and furniture will be auctioned in New York. Her estate is selling hundreds of items that had filled her three homes. Bonhams Auction House estimates they will bring $3 million.

   Two Henry Moore sculptures will be offered during its Impressionist and modern art sale in November. Bacall was a big fan of Moore’s work. Six more of his sculptures will be sold in March. Also, work from Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Joan Miro, James Audubon, Alexander Calder, and others will be up for sale.

   Ms Bacall also had a large collection of African Art, an interest that developed while her late husband Humphrey Bogart was filming The African Queen. These priceless pieces once decorated her homes in Los Angeles, Long Island, Amagansett, and the famed Dakota apartment building in Manhattan.

   This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors.

   This next weekend will be a busy time in the Forgotten Hollywood journey. In addition to visiting Van Nuys High School (my alma mater) for its 100th birthday on October 18th, I’ll spend the day, October 19th – Sunday, at the Hollywood Show at the Westin Los Angeles Airport. Among the celebrities who will be signing autographs, friends of the Forgotten Hollywood franchise of books, radio show, and documentary currently in production:  Margaret O’Brien, Susan Olsen, and Erik Estrada. I’ll be there autographing copies of my paperbacks from 11a – 4p. The Westin Los Angeles is located at 5400 Century Blvd., near LAX.
