This is a blog devoted to the unique relationship between Hollywood’s Golden Age  and American history. I call these reports, my Hollywood-and-Vine moments. The Forgotten Hollywood-book series is the catalyst for ideas and conversation on this site. I’d also like you to read my self-published work!

Please share my blog with folks interested in classic  cinema and Americana (friends of Turner Classic Movies and the History Channel… for example). I also welcome your comments.

A sequel to Forgotten Hollywood Forgotten History has just been released. I invite your suggestions for actors you might like written about. Your requests will be given very serious consideration (especially if an actor keeps popping up). Names already being considered for a fourth book include: Ralph Bellamy, Dan Duryea, Mary Astor, Edmond O’ Brien, Henry Travers, William Frawley, Teresa Wright, William Demarest, Brian Donlevy, Charles Lane, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson,  Lee J. Cobb, Harry Morgan, Ray Walston, Joseph Calleia, Eugene Pallette, Frank Lovejoy, Nat Pendleton, Dwight Frye, and Warren Oates.

When commenting on this blog site, courteous and polite language is requested. It’s a blog for young and old. We will not tolerate profanity or abusive comments. Decisions over spam or questionable content will be made by the administrator and the author… AND IT WILL BE FINAL.

The Forgotten Hollywood site was selected as a 3rd Place Finalist as Best Weblog (Individual) from the Los Angeles Press Club 54th Annual Southern California Journalism Awards in 2012. This a real testimony to the earnest family-friendly aspects of this online site.

I want to personally thank Matthew Vandewouwer for this inspired website concept. He’s my nephew and a very talented individual. I’m very proud of his contributions.
